Italy: Florence.

Time spent: ~3 days.

Tips:

  • Accommodation: Hotel Boccaccio . 3 min walk from the station. Pretty basic with breakfast provided. But the hotel receptionist, Elis, was the one who made our stay great!
  • Getting around Florence: With a map, and some recommendations from the receptionist, you can get anywhere on foot. However, if you go to the mall, there’s a bus that brings you to and fro. It’ll depart from the main bus station which is located near the Santa Maria Novella train station.
  • It is possible to get around without having to purchase data. I did it, so can you:)
  • When it comes to purchasing leather goods, be sure to do your research properly. The leather smell does not necessarily mean the product is real leather. The smell comes from a chemical that is usually used to treat leather. You can ask for discounts when making your purchase.
  • Apart from all the main tourist attractions, take some time to wander and get lost in the little allies. Many interesting hand-made products to be found!

Yes, there’s shopping at the station:) Corridoio VasarianoPiazza Santa TrinitaGrom, another famous gelateria!Duomo
This area consist of about 4 different buildings with different entrances. Be there early to avoid wasting your time in queues. Piazza di Santa Maria NovellaSelf-Service Leonardo
If your looking for something simple just to fill your tummy, this is the place to be! Located near the Duomo. Probably one of the cheapest in a tourist hotspot location. Terrible service. Seems to be doing well cause of all the uninformed tourists like me, plus its located in the main shopping belt:/Giardino delle rosePiazzale Michelangelo
Best place to get an overview of Florence!Forte di Belvedere
Great place for lunch and chill. Though there is an entrance fee of 2 euros if i remember correctly. Boboli Gardens
Underwhelming, and not maintained well. Didn’t think it was worth the entrance fee. Famous gelateria: Santa TrinitaBridges along the Arno.Random alley. You’ll find many everywhere. The Mall
Luxury outlet shops.
